Sambalpuri Ikat cotton sarees are also known as 'Kargil Kumbha' sarees.
These gorgeous handloom sarees were woven as a dedication to the Kargil War,hence the name "Kargil". “Kumbha” means temples. Pallu of this Drape has the Konark wheel motif- the signature Odisha architectural marvel, surrounded by peacocks, butterflies, flowers motifs .The main attraction of these sarees are the large Ikat temple designs woven along the borders. 
In this saree the tie & die technique is used to create motifs in it, giving an elegant and classy look to the saree. The highpoint of these sarees is the traditional craftsmanship of the 'Bandhakala', the tie-dye art reflected in their intricate weaves.
