The Maheshwari Silk Cotton Sarees by the Artisan Clusters in the town of Maheshwar, are Handwoven with a technique that has been preserved by the community since 5th century AD.
Developed under the patronage of the Maratha queen Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar, the sarees were Worn by women in court and gifted to royal guests.
One can see the influence of Maheshwar Architecture in its simple and elegant designs and the result is a weave that is elegant and truly timeless.
